DIY Jewelry Box
I had been thinking for weeks how to better organize my ever-expanding jewelry collection. I had it all on these mirrored dishes at first, which worked well until stuff continually kept falling off and getting lost between the dishes and the wall. It was a mess. So the other day while shopping for a new "book bag" in Francesca's, I saw they had rings in a wooden container filled with rice to keep them in place. I fell in love with the look, so I took the idea and personalized it.
I found and painted a jewelry box my favorite colors. Then dyed rice to put in each compartment. (The rice dying part was my fave!) Paired it with a jewelry stand I received as a gift not too long ago. It turned out well. Like a little mini boutique in my room. ^_^

Swoon City: Josh Hartnett
Josh Hartnett isn't new to the scene, by any means. He is most known for starring in Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, and one of my faves, 40 Days and 40 Nights. However, thanks to his new movies, Dark Star Hollow and Singularity, supposedly opening sometime later this year, Josh Hartnett has been out recently at different celebrity parties looking HOT!! Just look for yourself!

Michael Kors 'Runway' Silicone & Baguette Watch
This monochromatic beauty stole my heart and is by far my fave men's watch. It's sophisticated, yet still stylish and hip. Available at Nordstrom for $225. Just saw that it is not available online anymore. Bummer! But you can still find it in stores. Perfect Father's Day gift.

Editors Pick, Spring Must Have!
These are some of my favorite shoes for this spring. The first pair are Unleashed 'Juliette Crochet Ballet Flats'. They can be worn with jeans or white linens.
Sam Edelman is one of the hottest shoe designers, HANDS DOWN! I have a few of the Novato style pump and they are adorable on. Very comfy light weight heel. [The shoe kinda reminds me of a cork from a wine bottle]
Marc by Marc Jacobs laced wedge bootie is very stylish. Forest Green just does it for me.
Enjoy (:

Very Late SxSW Update
Since January, I had planned on going to SxSW with some friends. Buuut, my stupid stinkin car got towed... twice the week before taking all of my spending money for the trip. I thought I wouldn't be able to go and my heart was broken. I guess the stars wouldn't let me miss out, though. Some other friends invited me to stay with their family about an hour outside of Austin for the last weekend. We weren't able to attend any shows, partly cause we were all super broke, but we somehow got invited to a mansion party. Yes, a mansion party! Two nights in a row!! So, I mean this had to be fate, right?
Friday night we made the journey to unknown territory, took winding roads, and found ourselves in one of the most beautiful houses I had ever stepped foot in. The entire living room was glass so that the entire Austin skyline was visible from the couch. There was an infinity that had the same astonishing view. To make matters worse, some of my new fave artists were there too! Chiddy Bang, Mac Miller, The Cool Kids, The Fly Guys, and even Kendrick Lamar. We met and had conversations with all of them. The night was untoppable. We somehow ended up on the roof with Kendrick Lamar and friends. No idea how we got up there, let alone down from there. The whole night was sponsored by some Asian inspired liquor, Tyku. Here are some sneaky photos from night 1.
Beautiful right? And idk if you can tell, but that bottle is glowing! It lit up when picked up. Pretty cool. Either way, the second night was not quite as epic, but Wiz Khalifa and Trae tha Truth were shooting a video then. I saw Wiz and Amber Rose. I wasn't able to meet them though. After the shoot, they started playing a Lil B. I'm not a fan. So, I threw a bit of a fit asking why they would poison my ears with such horrendous sounds. Yeah, it was because Lil B was there, like seven feet away from me. Oh well.
While in Austin, I did visit 6th St. It was a bit lackluster to me, but I'm willing to give it another chance, hopefully someday soon. Anyway, shots from night 2.
All in all, Austin has won my heart. It's raw and grittiness combined with the fantastical nights in the mansion made for the perfect balance. I can't wait to go back.

Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie
While watching the Academy Awards last night, I noticed a breathtakingly beautiful ring and hairpiece on Hilary Swank (whose dress was stunning by the way). Well, after searching long and hard.. pause... I found out that both amazing pieces of jewelry were creations of the marvelously talented Taiwanese Anna Hu.
Upon further review of her entire collection, I am undoubtedly head over heels in lust with Ms. Hu. Anna Hu brings together her knowledge and love for art history and cello artistry to her jewelry designs. Each piece is classically beautiful and the brightly colored jewels mesh with such rhythm.
Her magnificent jewelry has been featured in numerous magazines and worn by myriad celebrities on nearly every red carpet. I definitely encourage all to visit Anna Hu's website to marvel in the beauty of each of her pieces. The necklaces and engagement rings have stolen my heart. Wishfully thinking, I will marry an insanely rich man who will fund my philanthropy and propose to me with Anna's coeur d'amour ring (which can only be viewed on her website). Until then, I'll keep dreaming and blogging.

Kicked It with Kendrick
Last weekend, Kendrick Lamar was in Dallas and of course I was in the spot! He had about an hour long set and performed almost all of his newest songs. This show was eeeasily one of my absolute faves that I've been to since in Texas!! He had such energy and enthusiasm. Kendrick shared tales from his childhood in Compton and he told stories from the stu to introduce each song. And, he and his DJ had such a connection; they were totally in sync! At any rate, I loved the show.
Above is footage from my phone of Kendrick Lamar performing one of my fave songs of his, P&P. You can buy the entire EP, Overly Dedicated on iTunes now for only $5.99. To learn more about him, follow him on twitter ( @kendrick_lamar ) or listen to his music on his web page.
So in between artists, it got live in the place! I think some folks had one too many shots, which made for more fun and footage for me. Here's some of the craziness!
